About the Journal

Brief Background

Audiology - Communication Research (ACR) is an open access scientific journal, edited by the Brazilian Academy of Audiology (ABA), dedicated to the publication of original and unpublished research in Audiology, Human Communication Disorders and related areas. As successor to the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Speech Therapy, published between 2007 and 2012, the ACR maintains its commitment to promoting the advancement of knowledge and clinical practice in the area.

The journal accepts submissions in Portuguese and English. All articles go through a rigorous peer review process (double anonymization). Articles in Portuguese accepted for publication will be translated into English before final publication, ensuring the quality and scientific relevance of the publications. Accepted works are published in both languages, in continuous publication, and are available under the Creative Commons CC-BY license, organized in a regular annual edition.

ACR is present in important databases, both international and national, increasing the visibility and impact of published articles. As part of its commitment to open science, the ACR promotes transparency and free access to knowledge, adopting practices such as the publication of preprints and open access to all its articles.

The abbreviation of the title is Audiol. Community. Res. to be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic captions.
